Management of Suppliers

In order to improve sustainable supply chain management and emphasize the corporate social responsibility of suppliers, the Group keeps cooperating and communicating with suppliers, to assist in establishing competence of managing environment, safety, and sanitation.

Manufacturing Process of Suppliers

The following manufacturing issues are considered in selecting suppliers:

In order to satisfy legal requirements or standards of safety, sanitation and environment, and to protect consumers’ rights and benefits, the suppliers’ products should satisfy the following requirements:

      (1)Apparel and Garments

      Labeling content Labeling methods
      1.For domestic-made goods, the name, telephone and address of local manufacturers; for imported goods, the name, telephone and address of importers. Sewing tags, hanging-on or on the inner or outer wrappers.
      2.Size or measurements
      3.The name of originating country Tags which are not damaged and do not fade after wash; to be sewed to a conspicuous part of the commodities; and on the wrappers if wrapper is provided for the commodity
      4.The fiber or down contents.
      5.The care instructions.

      (2)Textiles

      Labeling content Labeling methods
      The name, telephone number and address of manufacturers for local products; the name, telephone number and address of importers for imported products. On the product itself, outer or inner packaging, or in the instruction manual.
      The sizes or measurements
      Country of origin (the primary country of production). With regards to the specific imported textiles, the description for country of origin shall be in accordance to communiques from the Bureau of Foreign Trade, the Ministry of Economic Affairs. Sewn on as labels, marked, stamped or printed on the product itself in an obvious position, and is not easily damaged or fades after washing. Where the item is packaged, the information shall be indicated on the package.
      Fiber contents. Where there are stuffings in the item, the composition of the stuffings shall be indicated.
      Care instructions.
      Business owners shall indicate on the textile products, internal or external packaging, or in the instruction manual that the item is suitable for use on children less than three years old. Where the item may affect the health of children and infants, a precautionary label shall be included.

      Name of goods 1.Sewing tags, hanging-on tag, stamped or on the outer wrappers. Labeling should be mainly in the Chinese language supplemented in any foreign language.
      2.The point 3 of labeling content should be provided in a unchangeable manner, such as sear, hot stamp, print, or sew, on conspicuous parts of products in Chinese or foreign languages.
      3.The word "warning" or "caution" in point 6 of labeling content shall be printed in such type of a size larger than 5mm*5mm, with legends at least 3mm*3mm in size.     • Labeling criteria:
      Labeling content Labeling methods
      Name of the toy 1.In principle, labeling in respect of toys offered for sale in the market shall appear on the toy per se; provided that if labeling on the toy per se is unlikely, the labeling shall either appear on the package or product literature or in such form that may be applied to the toy.
      2.Toys shall be labeled mainly in the Chinese language supplemented in any foreign language.
      3.Toys shall be labeled in clear, concise and legible letters or words or in pictorial form.
      4.With respect to export-oriented toys re-designated for sale in the domestic market, a Chinese label or product literature shall be attached in accordance with Article 7 of the Commodity Labeling Law.
      5.Imported toys for sale in the domestic market shall be labeled and product literature or warning notice shall be attached in accordance with the second and third paragraphs of Article 24 of the Consumer Protection Law, with the contents of the notice and product literature not simpler than those in use in their place of origin.
      6.Letters used for warning labeling purposes shall be in such color different from that of the background on which they are printed and shall be easily identifiable. The word "warning" or "caution" shall be printed in such type of a size larger than 5mm*5mm, with legends at least 1.5mm*1.5mm in size.
      7.Special warning notice: With respect to toys that may easily cause any specific injury or toys with acknowledged hazardous substances, a special warning notice shall be added to the toy.
      Name, address, phone number and uniform business code of the manufacturer; if the toy is imported, the name, address, phone number and uniform business code of the sales agent, importer or distributor, as well as the name and address of the manufacturer at place of origin and the name of the country of origin shall be labeled

      Hydraulic toys Warning: This toy may be used by children only in shallow waters and under the supervision of adults. (If the toy is an air-blown toy, the labeling shall appear at a place not more than 100mm away from the blowing mouth.)
      Toy with threads, ropes, flexible ropes that can be attached to a cradle, hammock or baby carriage Warning: Please user this toy under the supervision of adults so as to prevent the child using it from getting his neck entwined and suffocated.
      Projectory or launching toys Warning: In launching, no human body shall be targeted; the end of the ejecting article shall in no event be sharpened; and use of this toy shall be used only under the supervision of adults.
      Imitation cookware toys Warning: This toy shall not be placed close to fire and shall be used only under the supervision of adults.

      Special warning notice

      Steam pressure-driven toys Caution: The maximum operating pressure of this toy shall be atmospheric pressure or kilos of power per square centimeter.
      Toys driven by direct current or charged or driven by rectifiers Warning: This toy shall not be accessible to or dismantled by children.
      Floating toys, e.g., inner tires, floating beds or air-blown small yachts Caution: This toy is not a life appliance and thus shall not be used for life saving purposes.
      Toys with diethylene glycol Warning: Devouring this toy will cause harm to human body.
      Toys with ethylene glycol Warning: Devouring this toy will cause death or injury.
      Toys with methanol (1)Warning: Dangerous; the steam will be hazardous to human body and devouring this this toy will cause the devourer to become blind or cause death or injury.
      (2)Warning: This toy is poisonous.
      Toys with benzene, toluene, dimethyl benzene or distilled oil derivatives, e.g., coal oil, mineral oil, gasoline, refined mineral solvent (1)Warning: Dangerous; the steam is hazardous to human body; and

      7.The typeface or symbols used in a warning shall be of a different color that is easily distinguishable from the background colors. The size of the word "warning" or "precaution" shall exceed 5mm*5mm.

      5.Imported baby cots and baby cots originally to be exported but later offered for domestic sale shall contain labeling or directions for use in the Chinese language, the contents of which shall in no event be simpler than those of the labeling and directions for use adopted in the origin of such product.
      6.The typeface or symbols used in a warning shall be of a different color that is easily distinguishable from the background colors. The size of the word "warning" or "precaution" shall exceed 5mm*5mm.
      7.The content of warning notice:
      (1)Warning! Fold or adjust a baby cot only when no infant is inside.
      (2)Warning! Remove climbing aids from the insides and outsides of a cot.
      (3)Warning! Placed on plain floor and keep clear of heaters stoves and power points.
      (4)Warning! Never hang strings or objects easy to depart.

      Warning of which the content is specified in the point 7 of labeling methods. A special warning notice shall be labeled if hazards to the safety of users are apprehended.
      Follow the label requirement instruction of electrical appliances and electronic goods if it belongs to electrical appliances.

      (4)Food cleansers

      Labeling content Labeling methods
      Product name 1.The position of labels: labels shall be printed, stamped, pressed or marked on the package of the smallest unit of the vending products. The labeled content shall be clearly visible at the time of distribution and marketing.
      2.The method of labeling: if the labeling is made by way of printing or stamping, the ink shall sustain fading and shall not peel off.
      3.Labeling of Date: the labeling of the date shall consist of the year, month and day and date shall be marked in a way that is customarily decipherable. Where the labeling of the date consists of only the year and month, the last day of that month shall be regarded as the last expiry date or date of the shelf life.
      4.Font of Labeling: the length and width of the characters marked on the labels shall not be less than two millimeters.
      5.Where the products are imported from overseas, the importer is allowed to import such products when a Chinese label is added.
      Chemical names of main ingredients or, in the case of a mixture of two or more ingredients, each of the ingredients shall be indicated separately

      (5) Food utensils, food containers or packaging

      Labeling content Labeling methods
      Product name 1.The position of labels: labels shall be printed, stamped, pressed or marked on the package or object of the smallest unit of the vending products. The labeled content shall be clearly visible at the time of distribution and marketing. For those products prescribed by the central competent authority, the name of materials and thermal resistance temperature of its major part shall be printed, stamped or pressed on the object.
      2.The method of labeling: if the labeling is made by way of printing or stamping, the ink shall sustain fading and shall not peel off.
      3.Labeling of Date: the labeling of the date shall consist of the year, month and day and date shall be marked in a way that is customarily decipherable. Where the labeling of the date consists of only the year and month, the last day of that month shall be regarded as the last expiry date or date of the shelf life.
      4.Font of Labeling: the length and width of the characters marked on the labels shall not be less than two millimeters.

      (2)Food utensils, food containers or packaging which have plastic food-contact surfaces should be indicated as single use only or reusable, or other equivalents.
      (3)Food utensils, food containers or packaging which have PVC or PVDC food-contact surfaces should be indicated as no direct contact with high-fat or high- temperature food, or other equivalent warnings.

For those names that are hard to recognize in Chinese, they may be labeled in commonly known characters or symbols.,The product names on the inner package of imported products are permissibly expressed in foreign language. In case the size of the container or package is too small to be marked or labeled in detail thereon, such information shall be incorporated in the leaflet accompanying the product while product name, applicable purpose, name and address of the manufacturer or importer, license number are still required to be printed on the container or package.
      2. The size of Chinese labeling words is specified as follows: if the net weight or volume of content is over 800g/800ml, the size of words shall exceed 2 mm*2 mm; if the net weight or volume of content is between 800g/800ml and 300g/300ml, the size of words shall exceed 1.6 mm*1.6 mm; if the net weight or volume of content is between 300g/300ml and 80g/80ml, the size of words shall exceed 1.2 mm*1.2 mm; if the net weight or volume of content is less than 80g/80ml, there is no requirement for the size of words.

      (3) Rice Vermicelli:The percentage of rice or equivalent information shall be indicated on outer packages. The characters shall be in such color different from that of the background on which they are printed. The length and width of the characters shall not be less than 4 mms.

      (4) Fruit and vegetable juices
      A. If the content of fruit and vegetable juice is 10% or more, indicate the percentage of original juice conspicuously on the front of outer packages. If it is mixed with 2 or more fruit and vegetable juices,
          (A) product names shall disclose all fruits and vegetables in descending order by the volume of content, or
          (B) product names or the front of outer packages shall indicate “mixed juice of fruits (vegetables)”, “blending juice of fruits (vegetables)”, or other equivalents.
      B. If the content of fruit or vegetable juice is less than 10%, except indicating the names of content, the drink shall not be labeled as fruit (vegetable) juice or other equivalents. “The content of fruit (vegetable) juice is less than 10%”, equivalent wording, or the percentage of original juice shall be conspicuously indicated on the front of outer packages.
      C. If the drink does not contain fruit or vegetable juice, “exclusive of fruit (vegetable) juice” or equivalent wording shall be indicated on the front of outer packages.
